Female Entrepreneurs: Mentoring and Lifelong learning across Europe

Women Entrepreneurs in Rural Tourism Training

What training is on offer?

Based on research feedback on the key needs of women entrepreneurs, we are developing a training course. This will consist of five workshops with guided learning and activities between workshops. The training will be practical, help you to develop plans for your business and exchange ideas with other women entrepreneurs. The course will include stories and ideas from across Europe.

Training will cover the following topics:

• How to develop your business through marketing

• How to use computers and the internet to market your business

• How to use financial information to manage your business

• How to develop a sustainable rural tourism business

• How to implement legal regulations relating to your business

When and where will the training happen?

Workshop dates are as follows: 7th December 2011, 11th January, 8th February, 7th March and 28th March, 2012. All on Wednesdays 09.30 – 12.30 followed by buffet lunch. The workshops will be held at Norton Radstock College main site, South Hill Park, Radstock, BA3 3RW with the exception of the second workshop on 11th January which will be held at Radstock Learning Centre. We have avoided school holidays with the choice of dates.

Who can attend?

Women who are planning to set up or already run a rural tourism business in any of the following: accommodation, crafts, food production or attractions. We will have up to 20 places on our free pilot course. The course will also be available online for those not able to attend workshops.

Why is the training happening?

This is part of a European Union funded project to develop the business skills of women entrepreneurs. Pilots will also take place in Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Greece and Spain. Feedback from the pilots will be used to improve the training course so that it can be used more widely across Europe. More information on www.wertedu.eu
